Spring is a great time to come to the beach for an active vacation (hang gliding, kayaking, canoeing, wind surfing and beach walking). Of course, you can also spend a lazy day reading (many books and games are provided), or walking on the beach with your dog (additional charge for pets applies). Organize a family reunion, or a getaway with some friends. Average temperature for March, April and May is 60 degrees.
Fall is probably one of the best times to come to the Outer Banks. Low rental rates, small crowds and warm water...what more can we say? Fall is also one of the best times for fishing out of Oregon Inlet or Cape Hatteras to the south. The beach is also a great backdrop for family portraits to be given as Christmas gifts or made into cards. Average temperature for September, October and November is 65 degrees.
Winter is a great time to relax and get away from it all. Celebrate Christmas or New Years on the Outer Banks. Atop Of The Dune is also a great place for an informal business gathering. Work on a project, write a book or start a painting. Because of the relatively low light pollution during the winter months, stargazing from our top deck is especially nice. Average temperature for December, January and February is 46 degrees.
